Tianjin Agricultural University was founded in 1976 as a municipal general undergraduate institution with a fundamental educational positioning of serving "three rural issues"（agriculture，rural areas，rural people） and cultivating high-quality applied talents. Through many years of educational practice, it has formed a distinctive educational feature that closely follows regional economic and social development and serves modern urban agriculture.

The YES (Young Envoys Scholarship) program designed by TJAU is to align with the academic disciplines and professional course experiences offered by the TJAU.
